Surfer Boy

Here are the ONLY pictures I have from the Fourth of July (how did that happen????) We headed down to the OC to our friend Jon's parent's house in Laguna Beach. They live just a short walk (although a load of stairs!!) to the beach. So down we went. Nick loved playing in the sand but did NOT like the water. It didn't help that Mommy wasn't very good at paying attention to the waves, so the poor guy sorta got taken out. Umm... twice. Whoops!

Here he is hanging out, chillin' on the sand (this is after the first dousing).


Here he is with Riley - they are covering their feet (as well as mine) with sand. It's hard to tell from the picture, but the photographer (yours truly) has her back to the water. Yep, this would be how dousing number two takes place.


I will point out - in my defense - that the sand around and in front of them is DRY. How was I to know that the "big one" would come in while we were sitting there?

He loved it and we'll be hitting the beach again soon (and likely Daddy will be on wave patrol...)
