It's good to be the King

Don't we all love to sleep this way? I mean, really. How nice to be in a comfy bed, surrounded by down pillows & warm covers. Ahhh... Yes, this is Nick in our bed one morning during our recent trip to LA.

Nick cruisin' out to the patio to check out his ducks.

Not to worry, we didn't let him climb over - he made his best effort however.

On a more somber note, here is the smoke we saw from our airplane on our trip down. These are fires that are burning in the Santa Ynez mountains near Santa Barbara. Yikes.

A quick picture of Nick in the plane in his carseat on the way down. Despite the sad look on his face, he actually did very well. On the way home, however, not so much. But, honestly, if it were OK for adults to cry, scream, etc. when our plane was delayed four hours due to mechanical issues, we'd have melted down too. Especially when - after waiting for a gazillion hours and we've finally boarded - the pilot comes on to tell us "Sorry, still waiting for a part!" Dear God. And someone really needs to speak to the maintenance people at LAX. The air conditioning in the terminal is HORRIBLE and does not make for happy toddlers or parents-of-toddlers. Especially when such parents come to the conclusion that they could have driven home and gotten there faster, would have had air conditioning the whole time and probably would've gotten a decent nap for their kid that afternoon. Ugh.
