A Day at the Beach

Mommy & Daddy took me to the beach for the first time today. It was a little cold and windy, so I'm not in my swimsuit yet. The wind made my eyes water! But that's OK because there is a lot of room to run around.

We were at Ocean Beach right near Golden Gate Park. There was a big windmill that I looked at for a while. It was pretty neat. We ate lunch earlier across the street at the Beach Chalet. I had some bites of Daddy's clam chowder - it was pretty good!

Mommy wouldn't let me go in the water - she said it was too cold. It was really neat though, it came right up to my feet and then went away again. One of these days I'll get to go in.

Lots of people walked up and down the beach - I like watching them as they went by. Lots of people have doggies too - I wish we could get one, they look like fun.

The sand feels very funny on my hands. Mommy & Daddy told me that it doesn't taste very good so I decided not to eat it.

I really liked my day at the beach and can't wait to go back again.

So I'm sorta lopsided

My teeth have come in a bit of a lopsided way. I have three on top that stretch to my right and three on bottom that stretch to the left. So what? I'm still cute.

Mother's Day

It wasn't my first Mother's Day, but I suppose I'll say it's the first one that I really remember. Nick was only a few weeks old the first time around - I really have no idea what we did, that time still seems like a bit of a blur. Our day turned out really nice. We went to the Giants game and, thankfully, they still had some of the special pink Giants hats when we got there. Nick does pretty well at the games - he likes to watch everything, flirts with the neighbors and now that he's walking pretty well, he gets to walk around a little bit.

But the best part of the day was we got to "run the bases". They do it every Sunday after the game, but this Sunday they let the moms run with them. Nick made it about two thirds of the way to second base and took a little tumble. Didn't phase him, however and on we went.

As we approached second base, the usher informed me that they'd held up traffic until we were done (apparently they don't want the bigger kids plowing over the little ones). She assured me we didn't need to rush, but I scooped up Nick to carry him to third anyway, with a quick stop to say Hi to Lou Seal. It was like we had the whole field to ourselves!

He then walked about half-way down the third base line before he got distracted by stuff going on in the Giants dugout and Lou Seal again.

So I scooped him up again and we headed to home plate. It was great. He promptly fell asleep as soon as he was buckled into his car seat. It's tough running those bases...

Floor covering? Perhaps...

Nick loves his floor covering. So much so that he pulls it up and "puts it on". It's also very soft and fun to chew on. Who knew. We put it out on the kitchen floor in the hopes that it would "ease" the crashing & pounding sounds - I mean - music Nick likes to make with the pots & pans on our downstairs neighbors ears. Nick has other ideas.

Walking & clapping at the same time...

Yes, it's true. I can walk and clap at the same time. Not the traditional clap, mind you, but clapping using my cool Giants clapper! I'm really quite talented at multi-tasking. You should see me eating O's and banging my high chair tray like a drum - both at the same time. It's quite amazing.

Oh, and please don't mind my plumber-butt pants. I don't know how to pull them up yet.
