Giants Baseball & Bay to Breakers Weekend

OK, so I JUST figured out how to get my pictures off my iPhone and onto my computer without emailing them to myself. DUH. So, I now have NO excuse for not updating this more frequently. I think there is an app for the iPhone to do this too, but I'm too lazy to figure it out.

ANYHOW.

The three of us headed up to SF about a month ago. The main reason to go up there was I walked in the Bay to Breakers in honor of my dear friend John Kalayjian, who passed away unexpectedly in March. He did the B2B every year, so I joined a number of friends & his family to walk in his honor.

I was able to convince Kevin to make the trip (and, therefore of course, Nick - still to young to leave at home, darn it!) by letting him know that the Giants were in town. (Truthfully, it didn't take much convincing even without the Giants.)

We were able to see lots of friends, including Hope, Joel & Emma - Nick was talking about Emma alllll week long before the trip. So cute! They had a great time together at dinner on Friday night (dang it, no pictures!!!)

On Saturday, after a visit to our fave, the Ferry Building Farmer's Market, we headed over to the ball park. As usual, Nick fell asleep in the car and we were able to transfer him to his stroller for the remainder of his nap. We had Club Level seats, so we were able to hang out inside, eat a couple of Sheboygan brats, some garlic fries and some Gordon Biersch beer while Nick napped.

We happened to be sitting by the Ghirardelli Ice Cream Sundae cart. So when Nick woke up, he saw the cart & the yummy sundaes walking away and decided he wanted one. He's not much of a sweet-kid, but who can blame him? We were "behaved" and got one for the three of us to split.

After we got to our seats, Nick saw the guy next to us eating peanuts out of the shell. The guy was really nice and gave Nick a few peanuts. Nick LOVED them. He - embarrassingly - went over and asked for more. The guy (did I mention he was nice???) gave Nick the rest of his bag. It was great - kept him entertained for quite a while.

Nick also loved having one of the HUGE lemonades that they sell. The long straw is perfect to prevent spillage!!

Here is one of the only pictures I took at the Bay to Breakers. I forgot my camera as my friends who picked me up to go to the race came early, so in my scramble, forgot it! Also forgot to charge my phone, so lots of photo-ing was not in the cards. Oh well. At least you can see how crazy-crowded it was at the starting line!!

While Mommy was walking in the race, Daddy & Nick went to yet another Giants game! Nick learned to cheer - "Let's go Giants!!", clap, clap, clap-clap-clap. And they went all over the park.

The trip ended sort of crazy. Due to some miscalculations on timing, we missed our flight. Tried to do stand-by, but SFO-LAX on a Sunday night is ridiculous. So, thank goodness Kevin works for Hertz - we just grabbed a car and drove down. Nick slept the whole way and we made it in about 5 and a half hours. Exhausted, but in our own beds at least!!!
